Ok, thanks for giving me a few days! The day after I wrote about him not sleeping, he slept much better, but last night he was back to waking up every 2 hours. I'm hoping this is some sort of growth spurt and then he'll sleep longer. I read in What to Expect the First Year that babies who are 11 lbs or more metabolically (sp?) don't need to eat during the night. I weighed Toots with myself the other day and, according to our scale, he weighs 10.6 pounds! If it's right, then he will probably be close to 11 lbs by our 1 month appointment on Monday. Either way, I'm going to ask the doctor for some tips for getting him to sleep longer, if possible.
Last weekend, we went to Waco on Friday to visit my family. We had a great time and went and ate at George's and hung out with them. Saturday, we came back to Fort Worth and Tim's dad and stepmom and sister came into town to spend the night and meet Toots. We went to Texas de Brazil for dinner and then back to our apartment for them to spend some time with the baby. I had never been to Texas de Brazil before - it was really good! Sunday, three of my cousins came by to meet him. So, he met LOTS of family this weekend!
Tim's mom came for the week on Monday and has been helping me out a lot. Tomorrow, I am going to this thing at the hospital called Rockin' Mommas - kind of like a mom's support group and you can bring your baby. It's once a month so hopefully I'll like it and maybe meet some other moms.
Oh, I'm not posting a weekly post partum picture because I can't tell a difference, but I did lost another pound and a half.
I guess that's about all that's going on. Hope y'all had a great weekend and beginning of the week! I'll post Monday about Toot's appointment and hopefully I'll be able to post a joyous report of the Colts winning the Super Bowl!! Gotta root for my boyfriend Peyton Manning ;)
Here's some pictures...I hope soon they will all be with eyes open and looking at the camera!

Lauren, he is just precious and I'm sure that he will start sleeping good soon! Hope we get to meet him soon...
I don't know if I'd believe that heavier babies don't need to eat at nite. What kind of malarky is that?? We had sleep issues with C as well, but he eventually adjusted & sleeps fine now. You know, B might be cold, or misses human interaction. C slept on/with us for quite awhile. We'd bring him to bed with us early in the AM or sit in his room where we'd all (Mom/C or Dad/C) crash out on the Lazy-Boy. GL! I'm interested to hear what your pedi recommends, since every doctor has their own opinion.
I'm not sure that about the weight & sleep because our doctor never mentioned the correlation to us... she talked a lot about rate of weight gain over time. Also, because breastmilk is so much easier to digest then formula that can make tummies emptier faster, so he may not need to eat but want a full belly to be more comfortable?
It will get better! I'm glad your MIL is in town to help out. Hopefully your pediatrician has some ideas!
He is such a cutie and so big!! The weight/sleep thing is technically true - but it means absolutely nothing when your little guy wants to eat! Cade didn't sleep through the night until 9 months (he now sleeps 12-14hrs at night without waking so there is hope!)... Breastfed babies will need to eat more often than formula fed kids and the 8-12 times a day still rules at this age. Every 2 hours is perfect for him - and is very beneficial for your milk supply.
Just thought I'd point out that he is SO much cuter than makemebabies.com predicted (See Oct 30, 2008 post). Yes, I'm still horrified by my results and wanted to make sure there was still hope:)
Hes Cute.
