Overdue

Sorry I didn't keep my promise to try and update more last week. It seems like everytime I think I'm going to get things under control for this quarter, something happens to make it all crazy again. I have a lot of stress over this case (Titanic) and preparing for the bar at the same time.

You know how it seems like, when you have a group project or something, that everyone is on the same page, but then someone is totally crazy and messes the whole thing up? That's how it is for this case. There are 8 people involved (4 teams) and I'm pretty sure 7 of us would be really laid back and try to work together to make this easier but then there is this one guy who is making it so difficult. I guess he thinks he is going to be a badass or something about the case, but really it just makes everyone (or at least the three other people I've talked to) hate him and want to do the opposite of what he asks. I just really wish he would cool down and not try to make this already hard case even harder!

Friday, Tim and I went and ate at Joe T. Garcia's here in Fort Worth for the first time. I felt like we couldn't call ourselves real Fort Worthians if we hadn't eaten there because we hear so much about it! It was really good! They only have two dishes you can get and they are served family style - either enchiladas or fajitas. We got fajitas this time and I think we'll try enchiladas next time. They also have really good (but strong!) margaritas. After that, we went to this new place in Colleyville called The Yogurt Patch and had yogurt. That was the second time we have been there - it's yummy.

Saturday, we layed out for a little bit and Tim washed his truck. We also went and saw new Terminator movie. It was better than I thought it would be. We saw it in Colleyville and it was really crowded there - they told us the IMAX had sold out the show before we were there for the new Night at the Museum movie.

Yesterday we just kind of hung out. We washed my car and of course it rained. But, I didn't really drive it so I think it's okay. Then, I worked on some school stuff and that was about it. Luckily, it was sunny again today so we both did some work (Tim worked from home today) and then went by the pool for a little bit. Now I'm doing more work again and Tim is watching Napolan Dynomite.

I wish this next week would be a little calmer, but I think it's going to be just as crazy. I will try to do better with some updates, though. Hope everyone had a great weekend and wonderful Memorial Day!

Weekend

Sorry it's been so long since I have posted!

We went to Beaumont this weekend to see Tim's mom for a delayed Mother's Day. We had a great time. On Saturday, we went to see Angels & Demons, which was really good and went to Carrabba's (my favorite!!) for dinner. Today we came back early so Tim could watch the Rockets game but they lost. He wants me to say they got demolished.

Last week was a pretty quick but it seemed long in terms of stress. I got that crazy case (Titanic) I was telling y'all about, signed up for this Top Gun trial tournament (which now I kind of wish I hadn't done) and drove back and forth to Fort Worth everyday except Friday afternoon. It was over 800 miles this week. I will be staying in Waco a few days this week (including tonight) so it won't be quite as much. The trial competition starts next Wednesday and our answer to the lawsuit filing is due this Thursday. I thought this was going to be a very easy quarter, but it does not look like it is going to be as easy as I thought. Luckily, I am now NINE weeks away from being done!! (Hopefully, grades still haven't come back...)

I guess that is about all that is going on. I will try to update more than I did this past week. I think I will get back into the groove of things shortly :)

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

My First Blog Award!!!

Yippeeeeee I got my first blog award! This has been the longest week (well, it's gone by kind of fast, but it feels long in my stress level). Sara, from This Beautiful Thing, gave me the Lemonade Award

The Rules of Accepting and Sharing this Award
1. Put the logo on your blog or post.
2. Nominate at least 10 blogs that show an attitude of gratitude.
3. Link to your nominees within your post.
4. Comment on their blogs to let them know they've received this award.
5. Share the love and link to this post and the person who nominated you for the award.
Tell us how you've come to have an attitude of gratitude.
I have an attitude of gratitude because of reading other people's blogs. I've realized that I don't appreciate my average life enough. I want more and more to happen and, yet, people are going through things I never realized. It makes me happy to find out "strangers" are having happy lives and it makes me sad when things go wrong for them and then happy again when things start working out. I am married to a wonderful man, have a wonderful family, friends, and a generally great life. I have started reading a lot of blogs, so here is my narrowed down list, not in any particular order, of blogs that I think exhibit gratitude in all cases...

Tired

I will give a weekend recap tomorrow, hopefully.

I started back class today and we got our "big" trial for this quarter. Stephanie and I got The Titanic case. Literally the biggest case of all. The one everyone talks about dreading getting. Ahhhhhhh! It's going to be a long quarter...

I'm extremely exhausted, so that's why I'm not doing the full update today. I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and very happy Mother's Day!

Delayed Update

Ok, here it is, finally :)

Friday, we ended up not going to a movie because I went and got my spray tan and I was all sticky. So, instead we went out to eat at Gloria's (mexican/salvadorian/yummy!) and then came back home.

Saturday morning, we got up and went to our couple's massage. It was HEAVENLY. Exactly what I needed after my extremely hard quarter and finals. Then we went and ate BBQ at Angelo's here in Ft. Worth. We came back home and received a package from my friend, Sandy, who was the maid of honor in our wedding. It was a basket with wine and a bunch of different foods to congratulate us on our anniversary! Very nice :) Then, I went and got my hair trimmed. I came back home and we left for the hotel. We had decided to leave Tucker at the apartment for the night. We put pee-pads out and made sure he had food and water and Tim assured me he would be fine. We pulled out of the apartment complex and I told Tim I couldn't do it...so we went back and got Tucker and he got to spend the night with us at the hotel! We got to the hotel, hung out for a little bit, went down to one of the bars in the hotel to watch the Kentucky Derby. Of course, *right* when it was starting, the TVs went out in the bar. I rannnn up to the room and was able to see it. Tim got up there just as it was finishing. We couldn't believe the 48 to 1 odds horse, Mine That Bird, won! I love when stuff like that happens.
Here is a picture of our room

After we watched the Derby, we got dressed and watched coverage of the Cowboy's practice field collapsing. Then, we went down to Bob's Steak and Chophouse (also in our hotel - very convenient since the weather was so bad!) to have dinner. It was divine. We shared a really good caesar salad, I had a filet and Tim had the Kansas City Strip. They came with baked potatoes and a carrot and we shared a side of applesauce. Weird, I know, but it is one of their signature things - made with rum. It was really good. We got a free dessert since it was our anniversary (score!) so we chose Creme Brulee, which was also reallly good. They put champagne in our room for us because we got a romance package, but we had just had a bottle of wine at dinner so we decided to save it and bring it home with us. We ended up going to bed pretty early because we are old and then woke up the next morning and had french toast (which also came with the romance package) and went to church. At our church, they give you a blessing on Sunday if it is your birthday or anniversary that week. Our anniversary was actually on Sunday, so we were able to get a blessing on the actual day, which was great.

We came home on Sunday and ran some errands and then we decided to go to a movie that night. We went to Colleyville to the theatre my dad has there because you can also eat dinner during the movie. We saw State of Play, which was very, very good, and had yummy dinner. I had pizza and Tim had a burger. We came home and drank some of our champagne. We STILL haven't watched the wedding video, which I really want to do but it just hasn't happened yet.

Tonight, we are going to Tim's friend Wes' house for fajitas for Cinco de Mayo. Hope everyone has a great week!

Friday Fill-In

1. The first rule of working in an office and getting along is being away from everyone over the weekend.

2. It would be nice to find a pearl in some clams.

3. When I think of carnivals I think of awesome rides that keep you terrified you might die and roasted corn on the cob.

4. Tulips are my favorite spring flower and that also is my nickname from Tim!

5. Things on my desk include a picture of me and Tim, a tray with bills and a Dave Ramsey book, hole puncher, two pen holders full of pens and highlighters, and a piece of brick from the torn-down Zeta house that Jill got for me.

6. Thinking about being done with law school makes me wanna shout and jump for joy.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to getting my airbrush tan and going to a movie, tomorrow my plans include getting a massage with Tim (yay!), getting my hair done, going to Bob's Steak and Chophouse for dinner, and staying at the Omni Hotel for our anniversary (!), and Sunday I want to go to church to get a blessing for our 1 year anniversary, watch our wedding video, and celebrate being married to my wonderful husband for one year!
